A Crash Course in Commercial Drone Use
Interested in using drones for business, public service, or professional applications? Join Clemson University’s own Joe “Dr. Drone” Burgett for a 90-minute workshop titled “A Crash Course in Commercial Drone Use.” This fast-paced session will introduce you to the fundamentals of operating drones legally and effectively in the United States. Dr. Burgett will review the key FAA rules governing commercial drone operations, explain the different types of drones and their capabilities, and walk through the essential steps for planning and executing a successful mission. From pre-flight planning to data collection and post-flight procedures, you will gain a clear understanding of what professional drone work really involves. Weather permitting, the workshop will conclude with a live demonstration of a commercial drone so you can see the technology in action. This session is ideal for business owners, government employees, students, and anyone curious about how drones are used in the real world.
