You’ll learn how this time-honored practice preserves the memory and craftsmanship found in historic cemeteries. Catherine will guide participants through the tools, materials, and techniques used to make detailed rubbings—while emphasizing how to do so respectfully and without harming the stones.
The program will also highlight local cemeteries rich in history, offering tips on where to go, what to look for, and how to interpret symbols and inscriptions.

The Captain Kimberly Hampton Memorial Library is located in Easley, SC just off of Highway 123. This location serves as the headquarters for the Pickens County Library System. The facility features the largest reservable meeting space within the library system as well as a conference room, several smaller study rooms, a historical room and archives lab. Public computers and 24/7 wifi access are also available.
