PCLS and the Pickens County 250 Committee are bringing this special program highlighting the British strategy to reclaim the South and the Patriot counteroffensive that reshaped the Upcountry. Chastain will share the story of the 1776 scorched-earth campaign against the Cherokee and the resulting cession of land that became modern-day Greenville, Pickens, and Oconee counties.
