Join us with author Alfred Dockery as he reads a chapter from his book, Blood on the Blue Ridge.
From an innocent man sent to the gallows in 1808 to the execution of a ruthless and random killer in 2004, this book covers moonshine, murder, and mayhem in the Blue Ridge region of the Appalachian Highlands.
South Carolina Connections: Chapter 5, Defiant Distillers, discusses Lewis Redmond, the Moonshine King of the Carolinas. Chapter 9, Murderous Manhunts, includes a section about Broadus Miller and his conviction for the killing of Essie Walker in Anderson. Chapter 15, Deadly Drifter, chronicles the crimes, search for, and trials of James Neil Tucker, who killed two women and was executed in South Carolina’s electric chair.
